I am a Ph.D. student in the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at the University of Newcastle. I am interested in syntactic theory; the role of negation in Arabic Syntax, and a specialist in Arabic linguistics. My supervisor is Prof. Anders Holmberg. Topics I have been working on include the Phonological and Morphological Effects of Pharyngeal Sounds in Arabic Bedouin Dialects of the Arabian Peninsula, the Syntax of Nominal Sentences in Arabic: a Minimalist Approach, the Syntax of Arabic Verbless Sentences, the Role of Negation in Arabic Verbless Sentences, and the Features of negativeLaysa in Arabic. I am currently working on the Syntax of Negation in Arabic Small Clauses: a Minimalist Approach.
